Rules

This species was founded by Yuureigana. This clan is therefore the intellectual property of Yuureigana. By joining the Shikudou Koi species (herein referred to as "Shikudou Koi", "Koi"), you acknowledge her ownership over the species and the distinct traits in their entirety. Any combination of these traits (1 or more distinct traits) on an unauthorized design may be considered breach of this agreement and will be assessed on a case-by-case basis.Character creation for this species is only allowed with permission (otherwise referred to as a 'slot') that is purchased through Yuureigana Oniibara or Vampireau only!Upon purchase of a slot, please send your finished Koi design(s) to me/Yuureigana, Oniibara or Vampireau via discord! Any other form of posting, whether in the server or other servers, does not constitute an approval therein.Any Koi designs that were not approved during the creation process, or any designs made that are alternative-universe (referred herein as 'AU') may be used by the owner of the Koi design in question. These designs, however, cannot be approved for use as a Shikudou Koi.Please do not, at any point in time, post your WIP (Work-in-Progress) designs to social media or other servers to avoid any issues regarding impersonation, copying, or misunderstanding regarding the status of the design in question.Threats, guilt-tripping, or harassment of any form, insidious or otherwise, taken to attempt to become a member of this species will result in blacklisting.You may re-design your Koi, but you are not allowed to change the traits or the element of this Koi OC once it is created unless there is a distinct reason for it. (ex: rule changes/species changes, which will be communicated by the administration team.) The redesign should still keep reasonable resemblance to the original design.Sale of outfit concepts used in Shikudou Koi species are not permitted to be resold.Koi designs can only be accepted as whole references or concepts. The minimum requirement is a full body colored clean sketch.Please make sure that your character does not share a name with another existing koi. Please refer to the Koi dossier before naming your character.Resale of all designs must first be discussed with Yuureigana, OniiBara or Vampireau. Communication on the interested parties must be provided before money changes hands (sale exchange). Blacklisted individuals are not to be given access to this species under any circumstances.Children or sibling OCs in relation to existing Koi designs are not allowed. The exception to this rule in the event of children OCs is only available if the partnered character is not a Koi.You are allowed to use your Koi in your own universe. I accept absolute freedom for a Koi's AU backstory and overall story! The only thing that needs to be mentioned is that the Koi's origin is Su Hylia and Su Hylia only!

Do not change, twist or bend the lore to suit your needs or wants. Please contact the administration team with any questions of what can and cannot be done in the universe.

Koi markings cannot be changed. Koi markings cannot be renamed.

Do not claim anyone's design as yours. Do not copy anyone's designs. Do not trace anyone's designs.

Do not claim any koi spirit element as yours, threaten anyone who uses the same spirit, etc.Do not speak on behalf of the administration. All behaviors pertaining to the Shikudou Koi community will be addressed by the administration.

The Shikudou Koi species will always be referred to as the Shikudou Koi species. Please do not rename, readdress, or copy the concepts listed on the carrds or the discord server.

Disregarding these rules intentionally or intentionally will result in disciplinary behavior, blacklisting or a ban. These infractions will be measured on a case-by-case basis.


By entering into the Shikudou Koi species, you accept to adhere to these rules automatically. By entering the discord, verification within the server also means you acknowledge these rules.

Story & Info

The Shikudous❀Kami No Kois

The Shikudous originated from a very dark, misty Koi called the Mother of Kois! She is the All-Mother who takes care of her descendants, generation after generation. Over time, the Shikudous got bigger and bigger, giving birth to a myriad of variant forms of Kois!However, the Mother of Kois sacrificed herself because she bore a butterfly koi as spirit: a dark omen containing pure evil and a predisposition to commit horrible crimes or rebellion against the clan. The Kois believe in their goddess and pray to her, standing by her side even a thousand years later. The Mother of Kois still lives on with them in their prayers!

What her descendants do not know, is that The Mother of Kois is always with her children in the spiritual world; She is just not allowed to enter the real world, as her existence in the world of the living could deal serious damage to their world and could influence the Kois balance. Her ghost and her mind shall always be alive and be around them for eternity...

Their Origin: Su Hylia❀

Even though Su Hylia has a very high water content, swamps and other mud areas are not present. The main River which run through Su Hylia is blessed with Kois and a certain clean water which the water god Korsu himself gifted them, healers of the clan took care of it's health and is by far the most healthiest river and most importantly the most cleanest as you can look almost through it to the deep ground.
A lot of Kois enjoy to spend their times at the rivers and ponds specially for meditation purposes.

Shrines and gates are also very common on Su Hylia and also manned a clan shrine at the center of Su Hylia around the huge main Pond of the Shikudous, from there also goes the river which spreads in two different directions.
However, it is not allowed to enter abandoned shrines or temples, it got told that certain spirits possessed it's ground, many believe that these are long ago pased Shikudou members who seeked for vengance and justice in their murder...if it's true? Who knows...

Their Spirits❀

Since each Koi is having a Koi spirit in their mind its foreseeable that many tent to bond with their Koi. Koi spirits are able to show their own history and their own kind of feelings, those are highly important for the ones who enter the spiritual world. By entering the spirit world the body must be in a safe place, is the body affected outside of the spirit world the Koi is not able to save themselves from it, though, it's possible to react quick and to return to the real world, this is a worst case scenario but yet something that happened to the mother of Kois...

The Mother of Kois only exist as a shallow in the spiritual world and even as illusion in Kois dreams. If a Koi dreams about their goddess they better listen to what she have to say, it will either be life saving or a hint for good fortune.

Abilities & Powers

Eden Heir❀The Shikudou Technique 技術

Eden heir is a technique or better said a form of Shintaido which is also called as "the dance of water". This technique was developed by the Mother of Kois and her people, Eden Heir is a traditional way to flow with the water and it's Kois. By using this technique the koi spirit has a special connection to its owner and has a better way to provide power and strength. Though, this only works fully if the Shikudou has complete the whole process of Eden Heir and it's movements.
Many use this technique in the spiritual world to gift it's body the full power of their Koi. However, Eden Heir is until today the most used technique in the shikudou clan and also has a regulated repetition since most Shikudous enjoys it's process.

Sei-Rekai❀Meditational Process 霊界

Most Shikudous spent their time with meditation, they call it "Sei-Rekai" and is basically used for a lot of things such as spiritual connection, finding peace and even finding some strenght in it. By going through this meditation the Shikudou enters the spiritual world and is able to shift between this connection. However, it is not possible during the meditation to return back to the real world and later on shifting back to the spirit world, once the process of the meditation has been canceled there is no way to continue from the point where the cancelation took place, the shikudou has to start from the beginning again.

Many Shikudous prefer the ponds and rivers over a sitting place, most only float on the surface to fully be connected to their spirits and Kois, this is somewhat similar with the Eden Heir only with the difference that no movement takes place or any other influence. While in the meditation process the marks of the Shikudou tend to glow and is very enchanting to look at, this is also why Shikudous tend to meditate in the dark/night time. Other believe that their body not only glow because of theor connection, but also being near to the nightsky!

Iya-ūreih❀Healing Technique 癒し

Iya-ūreih is a healing technique which was also developed and created by the Mother of Kois, this technique got to be teached a lot since it's the most important thing one should be able to do. Though, this technique only works with its maximum powers on others, it is not able to regain health to themselves to gain eternity or immortality etc. This technique should keep Shikudous from being physically harmed, by using the Iya-ūreih the Shikudou is able to heal others and partly themselves. The Koi spirit play a huge part of this, while healing the Koi spirit is able to transfer health through the spiritual world into the real world. Going through the healing process inside of a pond or other water surroundings makes the healing faster and more effective!

► Your Kois spirit must bear an certain aura or element! For exmple: Fire Koi, Water Koi, Ying & Yang Koi, Golden Koi, Ghost Koi and many more! It doesn't matter if anyone else have the same element or aura!.

►The Koi marks on their eyelid and forehead are a MUST BE! They have these marks since they were born.

►The Mother of Kois is the goddess they pray to but...some of them don't believe in her and its origin and turned their face against the clan, most of them bare a buttefly koi spirit, the remain evil.

►The Shikudou name belongs to those who lost their name because of different reasons! This is optional and I'm excited what your ideas are for your own Koi!

► The marks can be combined how you want!
►Every Koi has a forehead sign in different shapes! There are three signs in total for you to choose and also 3 for the eyelid marks!
►Other forehead signs can be requested and will be yours only if you wish! The eyelid marks are not customizable and need to follow the listed options
►Most Koi have a black neck! Adding color to their neck is also totally allowed!

They can be placed ANYWHERE on the body!

Can I use any colors I want for my Koi?

Yes! It doesn't matter which color combination you use for your Koi or the marks as long as it doesn't look like any other Koi member!
There is absolute freedom to that and the only matter is that YOU are happy with your Koi!
However, it is NOT possible to have two colors for the eye marks!! For example: Right eyelid blue and the left eyelid red. Gardients on both sides are possible though.

Infos of their Clothes!

They mostly represent a traditional kind of style, and also mostly wear accessories or their clothes matching to their Koi spirit.
Most Kois also like to show others how noble and well behaved they are,
so a neat look is very common.
Many like to wear traditional clothes with large fabrics and many layers while others like to wear something less to show what one can't touch.
In general their attitude is rather noble.

The Bell of Hope

All Shikudous have their own designed Bell, a vessel for either their power or their hope inside their enchanting sound.
- Many Shikudous use them as clothing, hair or even home decoration. They craft them themself and the bell shape is alwwys the same, the painting ON the bell and the tassles or design around is customizable!

Their koi Spirit!

Design and Info

Every Koi member bares a Koi spirit with them but is only present in the spiritual world.
Whenever a Koi enters the spiritual world their Kois floats swimming around them like a guard,
they often protect their owner from any vile spirits or auras.
They are also able to communicate through any kind of reflections when the member is not in the spiritual world.

However, some members bare a butterfly Koi spirit which are the most dangerous ones,
they often commit crimes or just stand against the clan since they don't believe in the Mother of Kois
because they either felt betrayed by her or have a huge disbelieve in their goddess.
Butterfly Kois are also very different looking from normal Kois, they have way longer fins and more abstract pattern. Their owner always have horns in any kind of shape! This is a more visual result of the butterfly Koi.

Yet it is possible to bare a butterfly without falling for the evil, their way to handle it and their choice is the key.

Their designs come with very different colors and combinations! However, the kois SHOULD be color matching to your Shikudou!

Every Koi has sprinkle pattern on their eyelids which diff a little from its owners marks! Though, it IS possible to customize your Koi Spirits eyelid marks with the same shapes!
